iight.. i got a emu 1212m..and bx5 mons.. i plug my mons straight into my soundcard for right now... i got a mixer..but i dont record right now.. cuz i dont have a booth yet... so i jus listen to music and practice mixin other peoples vocalz and shit...you know...

when i got my monitors, the tweeter on my left speaker was crushed...i didnt wanna send it back cuz i live in canada, and yall tol me it would be fine, its not a big deal its jus a crushed tweeter... lol wich its fine..that monitor works great! haha

but now my right monitor makes a fuckin buzzin noise every once and awhile..sounds like theres a musquito in it or sum shit haha... i checked the cable and it seems to be good and everything... why would it be makin this buzzin noise... plz dont tell me thers suntin wrong wit my emu... ill cry..its brand new..i only record on it like twice!

by the way..when i play music is sounds great... theres no distortion or anything... it jus gets mad annoyin when im havin a moment of silence, and it sounds liek thers a damn musquito buzzin round my head haha...

Shit.. well im askin a question..i wanna get suntin else clear... ok i normally record and mix wit cool edit..cuz i feel most comfortable with it... but i recently heard that im loosing quality because it doesnt support asio...? how much quality am i loosing? like if i was to record wit acid would it be much better? or to notice the difference would i need nuendo or cubase?

plz try and answer both questions haha... i ahte askin two questions in one thread...seems liekt he first oen only gets answered haha...

help would be much appreciated...

i just took the cable from my good speaker and put it on my musquito speaker lol..and i got the same thing..so its not the cable...

i also noticed suntin else that wierd... my right speaker always has a noise... like i can turn the power down on both speakers so if i play a song on my comp you can't here nothin..but my right ones always makin that "shhhhhhhhhhh" noise LOL..i dunno how to fuckin explain it..haha

it's either... a the monitor is fucked... or b... the monitor is fucked... the crushness on the bx serious isn't good though... that's probably the problem... if it was any other monitor I'd say... you're fuckin crazy... but I know about those...

yo man that COULD be the electric in ya house....the socket that its all plugged in to....cuz on the socket that my shits plugged in to, its real fuckin old, and it s a lil loose....and every once in a while, i get a buzzin noise comin through the speaker...i never knew what it was from, till one day i happened to bump the plug in the wall with my leg, and the buzzin noise started RIGHT then....kinda drove me crazy tryin to figure out what the fuck it was...and then i found out about it, and theres nothin i can do but fix the outlet myself and prolly electrocute myself, or call an electrician....
check that out before u go all nuts over it man..

wow dawg my audigy 2 card is doin the SAME shit. it must be creatives drivers or something. its fuckin annoying. its like a crackling noise. the only way i was able to get rid of it was to mute any channel that im not using on the soundcard. i didnt think the emu would have this problem tho. creative is pissin me off with this. i went to update my drivers and the stupid driver install said theres no audigy card detected. I'm gonna call them for my shit. I'll see what they say.

in the meantime... switch speakers and see if the buzzing comes out of the other speaker. if not then its the monitor and i i hope u were smart enough to buy the warranty

hmmmm....

i jus checked the bar that i had my mons plugged into, and it says audio/video powerprotect...and im pretty sure it said surge protector when i bought it... so i dun think its the socket(i do live in a real old house tho?)...

i got frustrated and unplugged my mons and put em back in they box.... LOL..i dunno why, now i jus gotta hook em all up again LOL... ill try what opey said right now... but i dunno if i got warranty with em.. i know if they asked me if i wanted it i deff woulda said yes... soo ill look into that...

and opey.. when you call creative give em a "fuck you" from me haha...j/p nah but can you lemme know if you find anything out...

oh one more thing... i was lookin at the back of my mons... and it shows a xlr female...or a trs with two rings... and the place i bought my cables at sold me two 1/4 trs (wit 1 ring) cables... i got a feelin there dumber then me tho..so wtf should i be pluggin my mons in wit.. when i went in there i wanted to buy a xlr-1/4..but hes liek no no no...jus get these they'll do the job..so what should i be pluggin my mons into my emu wit... right now im usin 1/4(wit 1 ring) on both side... is that correct?

lol.. iight thats what i got... it aint my fault... its the stupid people at the music shops that teach me shit..they call em 1 ring and two ring... lol.. i hate when peeps try to act like they know what they talkin bout..but they aint no shit... the dude never heard of an emu before... hes like oh no go wit the soundblaster's, there whats really good!... guess that was my hint to leave...haha

anyway... ok i plugged them back in and switched em around.. and that one monitor keeps makin that static sound ...

even if i turn the volume knob all the way down.. you still hear that static. if i play a song on my comp and turn it all the way down..you dont hear the sound..but you still hear that effin static haha...

ima try to find out if i got warranty with it.. CANT BELIEVE I GOTTA SEND SUNTIN BACK TO DA FUCKIN STATES.... why cant the states jus take over the world already, canada's gay anyway... lol

GODS DONE IT AGAIN.. this time it has nothin to do with bread, fish , water or wine...lol he deff jsu fixed my monitors for me LOL...there soundin good... that one tweeters a bit noisy still... but i dont here buzzin i jus here a lil fuz when i put my ear by the tweeter... i dunno if they sound right tho.. when someone signs on aim and it makes that noise..it sounds kinda staticy...fuck i dunno lol... think they'll be ok till i can afford to cop some wharfedales or events??

I have computer speakers for everyday sounds... but then again I have the 1820... but anyway... you should have atleast one out for 1/8... which'll give you the out for the comp speakers... OR... what's even better... if your card has rca outs... hook it to a bookshelf system... and play it through there... it'll help you with mixes to hear how your songs sound on crappy shits... cause... off of rb... nobody has monitors.
